‘Primary Colours’ Murals & Mosaics

At ‘Primary Colours’ we are proud to provide murals and mosaics for any area inside or outside of school.

Would you like your library, toilets, halls and cloakrooms painted with pictures incorporating designs by your children or even made into mosaics?

If so we can provide fun, creative, vibrant and excellent value for money artwork.

Primary Colours Murals

‘Primary Colours’ represents the artistic work of Justine Stroud, an experienced and fully qualified mural artist (BA Hons in Fine Art & Education) working in schools across South Wales. Justine is CRB checked and fully insured.

When creating a mural or mosaic, we can suggest designs and ideas to suit your requirements, work to your own suggestions or even incorporate children’s own artwork and designs. The final designs can be reproduced and painted in any room either inside or outside directly onto walls or on moveable panels in any location throughout the school.  The children can even take part in painting the mural or making the mosaic which can help to raise their self-esteem and the feeling of ownership, caring about themselves and their school.

The artwork for a mural or mosaic can be related to any area of the curriculum or a theme (for example eco-schools) to suit your needs.  We could even design a welcome sign for you, incorporating your school logo using paints or mosaic tiles. All design ideas can be adapted to fit the schools’ ideas and to suit a range of budgets.  High quality materials are used throughout such as weatherproof paint, tiles and sealant to ensure long lasting quality artwork. Art workshops for children using a variety of different media, and looking at the work of different artists and styles can also be provided.

We understand that every school has different requirements.  At ‘Primary Colours’ any idea can be adapted to fit any project. Our main priority is the needs of the school, staff and pupils and we are happy to discuss any project over the telephone or in person during a free consultation.

Bryn Celyn Primary School Pentwyn Cardiff.
Headteacher: Mrs E Keys.
Project: Mosaic join two school logos together.
Comments: Very pleased with finished work.  Justine was easy to talk to and very enthusiastic.  Whilst working with the children she showed good working relationships and encouragement.  All round a lovely experience.

Penrhiwceiber Primary School, Mountain Ash.
Headteacher: Mr R Makin.
Project: Mosaic of former pupil who won the Victoria Cross medal in World War One.
Comments: The whole project was very worthwhile, not only for the ten children taking part but also for the whole school – to revisit an important time in our history and find out about a very brave former pupil.  I can thoroughly recommend Mrs Stroud to brighten up any area in your school.

Ton Infants School, Ton Pentre.
Headteacher: Mrs S Williams.
Project: Mr Men wall mural, stair mural, mosaic, school logo floor marking mural.
Comments: Justine took all our ideas on board and incorporated them into the murals and mosaic.  The mural was created in such a way that numeracy and literacy could be drawn from it.  Justine worked well with the children and the children thoroughly enjoyed being part of the activity.  Both the murals and the mosaic have added colour and vibrancy to the school environment.

Comments: Justine is an amazing empathetic artist who worked well in our school; she undertook our project with interest and flair…We are very pleased with the results and would not hesitate to ask Justine to work with our children in the future.

Llwydcoed Primary School, Llwydcoed, Aberdare.
Headteacher: Mr Wilkinson.
Project: Five external moveable board, bird murals.
Comments: Justine worked exceptionally well with the children, and the completed artwork was of a very high standard.

When asked about how the project was undertaken from start to finish including value for money, both gave the following reply:
Justine was open, interested and listened to our ideas for the project and created designs that incorporated our ideas.  The finished mural design was vibrant and painted to a high standard. The mural was excellent value for money and we would be happy to recommend Justine to other schools and undertake further work in the future.
